Friendship

Maron and Miyako: gymnastic rivals, neighbors and best friends. Jeanne and Miyako, two enemies according to the standard 'good' verses 'evil'. Miyako is the daughter of the detective assigned to Jeanne's case, and of course, Maron is Jeanne, a thief.
Their history goes way back to primary school, when Miyako wasn't very well liked by her classmates because of the way she acted. Maron, however, looked deeper into Miyako's actions and admired and stood up for the girl. From then on they went home together and even discovered that their mothers were best friends.
In secondary school Miyako had trouble with her classmates, and was accused of stealing the class' funds. But again, Maron stood up for her and even helped her bring revenge upon the people who accused her.
That's why when Jeanne started appearing, and people in school started comparing Maron to the theif, Miyako took it upon herself to capture Jeanne to prove Maron's innocence. However, after being at every scene of crime, Miayko begins to notice a pattern. That every owner of a painting that had been stolen by Jeanne, acted differently after the painting was gone.
So Miyako swallowed her pride and asked Jeanne to help her brother, who was acting weird. Jeanne (Maron) had no choice but to do Miyako's bidding, since Maron promised herself to always do anything that Miyako asked of her, and saved her brother.
After Jeanne saves Miyako's brother, Miyako has a suspicion that Jeanne is Maron and continues to 'chase' Jeanne so if Jeanne was ever caught, she could 'accidently' set her free. From then on Miyako discretely tries to get the officers to notice that Jeanne is doing good.
Miyako is also extremely jealous of Chiaki because she is afraid that he will steal Maron away from her. So whenever she sees the two of them together, she gets extremely sad. However, her special relationship starts and the two aren't seperated that much, so in the end everyone is happy.
