Quote from Chapter 13: the first real reference about Jeanne d'Arc (Joan of Arc).
A saint named Jeanne D'arc saved France with messages from God. People feared this inhuman power and so she was put on trial for being a witch and was burned to death at a stake.
The one who betrayed her, was it God or humans...?
The growing pain has been left with the soul and suffering is waiting to be released. Who will be the one to give her wings...
From what we know of history is that God loved Jeanne (Joan) especially, so he gave her special powers to talk to the saints, but because of that the church was jealous and had her killed.
Arina takes us into a deeper look into this and brings reincarnation into the story. In Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, Jeanne D'arc is actually the reincarnation of Eve, the first woman, and the person who Kami (God) loves. But because she loved Adam, Kami gave up on her. However, he bestowed upon her special powers to seal demons and the ability to reincarnate.
Maou (the devil) found out about this and kept having Eve killed every time she was born again, because he knew that it would make Kami suffer. But Eve didn't want to keep being reborn, so the line ended with Maron.
