Death

Zen is a boy with a weak heart who is possessed by a demon, which, ironically, was keeping him alive. Maron meets him when Hijiri introduces them because of the demon (which happens to be all Noin's fault in the first place).
When Zen first enters the picture, he seems like he is very cocky, rebelious and rude. But as soon as he sees Fin his demeanor changes and he asks Fin to make him be able to fly, because, as we soon find out, he wants to see his parents.
Maron becomes very close to him because they are almost exactly alike. Evidently, Zen had been in the hospital for years and had never had one visit from his parents. So Maron becomes determined to take Zen to see them. Since the hospital staff won't let them leave since Zen could get an attack and die if not in a hospital, Maron 'kidnaps' him and they go to see his mother.
At the last minute, Zen hides because he doesn't want to see her so Maron ends up talking to her. Zen's mother confesses that she would love to be able to see Zen, but the surgery that he needs is very expensive and if she is able to spare the time to see him, she is able to use that time to work to make more money for his surgery.
Zen hears this and becomes even more determined to not die. Maron also decides not to seal the demon until Zen is able to live without it. However, Sinbad appears and really wants to seal this demon, even if it means killing Zen. Jeanne fights Sinbad for Zen's life when Noin comes on the scene and makes the demon controling Zen become stronger, making Zen attack Jeanne.
Jeanne fights against both Zen, who is attacking her, and Sinbad, who is trying to seal the demon. But during the fight Zen gets an attack and Maron is destracted long enough for Sinbad to successfuly seal the picture. The demon leaves during Zen's attack and Zen is in very critical condition, during this time Noin and Sinbad also leave.
Zen is able to see that Jeanne is Maron and so she transforms back for him, the two talk for a short while before Zen eventually dies.
Zen happens to be one of my favorite characters in this manga, plus his character and his death is also a turning point in this series. Zen also happens to be involved in the ending of the manga, so I thought it was important to make a page for him even though he isn't a main character.
